Kataminecraft

So Thursday night I got home from work and spent a couple hours trying to quickly throw together a Katamari meets Minecraft demo. It didn't turn out too great because I got overambitious with it. I tried having the Katamari roll up the whole ground instead of just objects (like trees, flowers, animals, whatever). As a result, the huge number of physical objects in the sim bogged the frame rate down to single digits and, well, the video speaks for itself:




Not too awesome. Oh well. Lesson learned. I don't think I'll be revisiting it, so I can get back to work on Rustbot. It was fun though!
