Quiet but busy

I haven't updated in a couple days, but that's not to say that I haven't been busy. Yesterday was spent writing the save routine, as well as refining the load routine, and interrelations thereof. It sounds simple and straightforward and therefore requiring little time, but I kept finding new things I wanted to add, and new ways by which to add them. Finally I got it all done, and it seems to be working preeeetty well.

Today I spent working on, well, prettifying some things. I added a log display in the bottom left corner. It essentially just keeps pushing updates when objects are added or removed, when the game is saved, etc. Its only purpose is for aesthetics.

Oh yeah, today I added the ability to remove objects.

I want to show a screenshot of the HUD now but my girlfriend's laptop is being a jerk. When I hit printscreen, it grabs what's underneath the actual game. If Firefox is what's on top under the game, then Firefox is what's copied. If everything is minimized when I hit printscreen in the game, then I get the desktop. Grr. It will have to wait until I get home Friday night.

Tomorrow I intend to work on object manipulation, and the following week before PAX East will be consumed with working on and perfecting joint addition between objects, thereby solidifying the central gameplay mechanic to Rustbot.
