Hello, world!

Sooo I'm working on a game. Rather, I'm working on a game engine. Once that's done, then I'll be working on a game.

A few years ago, my friend Andy and I kicked around a few ideas for a project we called "Rustbot". If you ever watched the show "Junkyard Wars" on TLC or Discovery or whatever channel it was on, you have the gist of the gameplay.

1. Find stuff !
2. Make stuff with found stuff!
3. Win!
I started working on the core concepts of the game and made some decent progress with the coding aspect. But, like all projects I undertake, it fizzled and was forgotten.

With the advent of Minecraft, I got the urge to start my own project again (I'm sure 500k + sales at $14 a pop would convince anyone of this) and my mind naturally wandered back to Rustbot due to the similarities between the two.

Since then I've begun work on a new engine from scratch, having learned from past mistakes and starting with a clear concept and coding aesthetic in mind. So far, the work I've accomplished doesn't do anything that wasn't implemented in previous iterations, but it's coded more cleanly and is modularized more effectively. Basically it's more efficient and more awesome.

I started tracking some of its progress on Buzz, but decided that, rather than clog it with its word limit lack of customizability, I'd start a blog and link the two.

For now, this post will have to do, but I'll update as I make progress (with screenshots!).

Adios
